I love to laugh. I enjoy a funny joke. However, as a native (albeit long-time expat) New Yorker, I’m probably a serious exception to the rule given my strong dislike of sarcasm. For me, sarcasm is always at the expense of someone else. This is in contrast to dry and/or wry witticisms, or sardonic irony, and even parody. For me, sarcasm has always seemed rude, and the on-purpose set-up to embarrass someone who’s sole guilt is being vulnerable. (Tag; you’re it, mfkr…)

Midnight Musing 09/28/2025

The characters in NEXUS are symbolic; with a few particular exceptions, each a composite of specific individuals I have known (and a few purely conceptualized). I’ve lived a very unconventional life journey and have had no shortage of sources for inspiration.  I’m reasonably certain I’m not the only one with the misfortune of encountering and circumstantially being forced to deal with people who brazenly argue “blue is yellow” (figuratively); people who insist that proven falsehoods are “facts,” and who will never, ever, ever admit to being inaccurate, solely because it means “you would win,” and they would “lose.”

Morning Breakfast Rituals

My morning breakfast ritual, along with sleepily smiling at the inevitable hummingbirds hoovering at one of the feeders outside my kitchen windows, amid the shuffling activity of my three Cane Corsi canine kidlettes. A bowl of super-fortified cereal, followed by coffee, typically with a Lacey’s Dark Chocolate Almond cookie (Trader Joe’s…). Savored while reading my morning newspaper, for me it welcomes a daily Zen blessed experience and frame of mind…

And the grounded presence to commence writing what’s swirling within my cranial hemisphere.
